Information about Dez Marton:
In 1981 i was asked to come to Australia under contract to St.George. In my first state game i scored three goals. During the 26 League games my goal tally was 38. Another 2 goals in the finals and 5 more in the cup games, a massive 45 goals put me as one of the all-time top goal scorers in Australia. When St.Goerge entered the National Soccer League, in the next four years i scored another 101 goals for the club. I was awarded the 1981 Rothmans Medal for best and fairest player of the year.
Other achievements include:
1981 State League Champions
1982, 1983 National League Champions
1982, 1983, 1984 Ampol Cup Winners
1984, 1985 Challenge Cup Winners
I gained my coaching certificate overseas. This involved two years of intensive theory and practice in soccer. I was player/coach for a third division club before coming to Australia. After my playing career i coached Yugal S.C, Bankstown S.C, assisted Frank Arok at St.George for a couple of seasons and then took over the coaching of St.George on a full time basis. I then coached Manly Warringah S.C, Bonyrigg S.C and Parramatta Melita. During school holidays i also coached for the Pacific Soccer Champs, held in various suburbs throughout NSW.
I realised that intensive training of players was required, therefore, in 1996 i decided to open my own Golden Boot Academy specialising in goal scoring techniques.
