U/14’s Boys in the final – Senior Women – one more hurdle

The BB Pirates U/14’s boys made it into the final in two weeks time by beating the South Coast Taipans 7-2. The game was a bit of a revenge for the boys losing against them during the normal competition.  In the first half of the game the team still gave too much respect to the Taipan boys and we were behind 1-2.   As the boys started the second half  there was no respect any more and in the first 10 minutes they scored 5 goals to put the game to rest.  The boys were on fire and the goals were coming thick and fast, their confidence grew and the opposition had no answer to the pressure.   Ali Shaqil scored 3 quick goals to make sure the opposition will remember him for the next time around.    All the boys did a great job defending in the second half and didn’t concede a goal.  The team Captain and goalkeeper Matthew McCarthy  with Caleb Bartier were the wall  that the opposition could not break down.So it is the final game and the boys can’t wait to get on the court to prove that they are the best in the league. If they repeat their last performance they will be champions for the 2013/14 Futsal season. We all wish them well and we will be cheering them on to win the trophy. The U/14’s final game is at DURAL LEISURE SPORT CENTER on Saturday the 8. February with kick off time 11.00 am

BOTANY BAY PIRATES - U/14's CHAMPIONS 2014

Our Senior Women have made themselves proud by winning the qualifying game 2-0 against Parramatta Pumas. They played the game to perfection scoring two goals and not conceding any. Through performance, and well deserved win. Paulo Dutra had not many choices for the team as Kate Mitrevski has been injured for weeks. Paloma Oliviera has been an outstanding player for the team. Helen Orr and Maddy Mirkovic with goalkeeper Sarah Veli-Gold had the job of defending – without letting any goals through. Maria and Erica took care of scoring goals. But more importantly Kylie and Cathrine where worthy replacements when the players needed to rest. There is a good feeling in the team and the girls are confident to go all the way. Paulo Dutra has some more Futsal tricks up his sleeve and it’s up to the girls to do it again. The Senior Women’s next game is on Saturday 1. February at MENAI SPORT CENTRE with kick off time 6.30 pm

Our U/12’s girls lost their qualifying game 0-7 against UTS Northside and finished the season with a lot of pride. What they achieved during the Futsal season was unthinkable before the season started. The coach Vince Blatch has taught them the skills of Futsal that the girls didn’t have and then put it in practice to win games. They ground most of the opponents down to win games even when losing most of the games in the first half. Finishing fourth on the table was a very well deserved position. There have been some outstanding players during the season but all together as a team they where just perfect. Our best wishes to Paris, Mia, Julia, Angelina, Thalia, Marissa, Shania, Christina and Eleni to continue with the outdoor Football season and we hope to see them for the Futsal season next year for BB Pirates.
